Introduction

Here is a searchable database of Hornby Dublo items/serial numbers as published in the 1st, 2nd and 4th editions of the 2-Rail catalogue.

The original listing (1st Edition) is courtesy of David Howes who compiled the list, but he did not include prices.

I have added to the list from my own copies of the 2nd and 4th editions, adding prices.

I have copied the descriptions as accurately as possible, including capitals and punctuation. I have also retained the old pre-decimal oddities of price representation (in the 2nd edition) where 30/- represent £1/10/0. Note that in the 4th edition, pence was denoted by the idiosyncratic -/1 rather than 1d.

I have included some comments such as indications were price was 'available later', and the singular oddity where a picture of a junction Home signal clearly shows a red 'home' on one arm and a yellow 'distant' on the other! 4th edition variants are shown correctly. In one case a set of brackets were not completed.

Mysteriously the 3-rail track disappears from the 2nd edition, but reappears in the 4th.

2nd and 4th editions define OO gauge as 5/8 inch.

I believe that the absence of an item from a later catalogue did not necessarily mean that it was unobtainable.

The 1st Edition was printed in 1958.

The 2nd edition prices were all shown in the 7 ¼ x 9 ½ catalogue.

The 4th edition prices were given on a separate 9 ¾ x 5 ½ sheet, headed: "REVISED PRICES (following the withdrawal of Purchase Tax Surcharge 10th April 1962)"

The catalogue was 7 ¾ x 10 ¼ .

The 2nd edition shows the prototype English Electric 'Deltic' with a lot of excited school boys looking at it (including me, I think)..

The 4th edition shows the two tone green version D9002.

Other edition information will be added later, as it becomes available.

The price of the 2nd and 4th editions was 6d

In general where descriptions differ, the 4th edition version is used.
